Death Stranding has you playing as Sam Porter Bridges, a courier tasked with “reconnecting” society. While you’re delivering packages and the like around the remnants of the United States, there are a lot of tools you’ll need to use to get around, which of course, need batteries to operate. With that, here’s how to recharge batteries in Death Stranding.
How to Recharge Batteries in Death Stranding
During Episode 2, you’ll find a bike outside the Distribution Center West of Capital Knot City. Unfortunately, it’s dead, and you’ll need to recharge it if you’re going to use it.
You’ll have to wait until later in Episode 2 to recharge this bike’s battery. Sam will be tasked with an Order that asks him to supply the Windfarm with a power generator. In exchange for completing this Order, the folk over at the Windfarm will give you a blueprint to build a generator via your PCC device.
Once you’ve got the blueprint, it’s simply a case of fabricating a PCC and then selecting it with right on the d-pad when you’re out in the field. Simply select the generator option and choose where you want to place it and you’ll be all set.
Other Generators to Charge Batteries in Death Stranding
Having your batteries run out will make things a lot harder for you in Death Stranding, so you’ll need to make sure to keep everything charged up.
Essentially what you need to do is find a generator in the world left by another player if you can’t craft your own. Then, simply stand and wait by it for everything battery-powered to recharge.
The trick, however, is that the generator will need to be in an area that’s on a Chiral Network. As you’re by a generator, a meter in the bottom left of your screen will show you your charge level.
Your other option is to make your way to a Safe House, whether it’s one another player built or one you find in the world. Head to the Safe House and choose to go to the private room, which will let you rest and recharge everything.
You’ll also need to do this if you want to charge any vehicles you have with you, as they’ll go to the garage when you go to the private room.
