How to get Vehicles (Bikes and Vans) in Death Stranding

Like most games, the first hours of Death Stranding are really a glorified tutorial, designed to introduce you to the game’s fundamentals. Put simply, you’ll be doing a fair bit of walking as you acclimatize to picking up cargo and keeping your balance along the way.

It’s not until midway through Episode 2 that you’re first given an opportunity to use a vehicle. You’ll find a Reverse Trike motorcycle, which is the same type as the one Sam was riding during the opening cutscenes of the game. Unfortunately, it’s dead and requires batteries. As Episode 2 unfolds, you’ll have the opportunity to bring it back online.

To do so, you’ll need to craft a battery generator with your PCC. If you’re looking this guide up, you likely don’t have either a PCC or the blueprint for a generator to recharge batteries. Don’t worry, that’s all coming as you advance through the story.

After Episode 2, you can expect to encounter more vehicles scattered around the open-world. Other than bikes, there are MULE trucks, which are found at MULE Camps (they’re bad guys). These trucks allow you to carry large amounts of cargo, and they will be invaluable during your quest across America.

Getting a MULE truck is a case of finding a MULE camp, sneaking in, and hijacking the truck.

Reverse Trike motorbikes can be found in garages, which will become available once you have connected an area to the Chiral Network. Alternatively, you’ll be able to fabricate them yourselves once the option has been unlocked (just continue through the story).

That’s everything there is to know about how to get vehicles, such as bike and vans, in Death Stranding. For more useful tips and guides on the game, do check out our extensive and ever-expanding guide wiki specifically for the game.
