Death Stranding: How to Change Hairstyle

death stranding change hairstyle

Just because Sam’s busy carrying hundreds of pounds of cargo on his back, doesn’t mean he can’t look stylish while he’s at it. Though his clothing can rarely be changed due to it being BRIDGES gear, it is possible to change how Sam has his hair. Here’s how to change hairstyle in Death Stranding.

Changing Hairstyle in Death Stranding

First things first, it’s worth pointing out that you cannot permanently change hairstyle in Death Stranding, nor will you have an option of tons of different hairstyles to choose from. Instead, you can simply interact with objects in Sam’s private rooms to change hairstyle.

By default, Sam will have his hair tied-up. It makes sense, after all, so that it doesn’t get in his face while he’s out in the wild world delivering packages and avoiding BTs.

If you’re not a fan of this hairstyle though, return to a private room and look to the table just to the right of Sam. With the camera angle in these rooms, you’ll want to look towards the door to exit this room to see the table we’re talking about.

Once you see the table, press X to interact with it. Alongside the incredibly hi-res Monster Energy Drink cans, you’ll find glasses that you can interact with.

Have Sam wear these, and then head out onto the open field and you’ll now find that he’s wearing his hair down, just as it was at the beginning of the game.

Wearing the glasses will only keep Sam’s hair like this until he reaches another private room. Once he does, his hair will be tied up again, and you’ll have to use this method above all over again to change hairstyle in Death Stranding.

Time needed: 1 minute

In short, here’s how to change hairstyle in Death Stranding

  1. Go to a Private Room and look for the table by the door.

  2. Press X to interact with it and do so again to use the glasses.

This will see Sam wear his hair down.
