DDLC Plus: How to Unlock All Side Stories

side stories DDLC Plus

Perhaps the defining feature of Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is the addition of the side stories. These add significantly to the runtime of the game when combined with the campaign. They cannot be accessed right away, however, and you’ll need to unlock them through the main campaign. Here is how you unlock all side stories in DDLC Plus.

How to Unlock All Side Stories in DDLC Plus

Side stories are a story expansion of Doki Doki Literature Club. They show how the club formed under Monika before she had her epiphany in the events of the main campaign.

These vignettes are surprisingly heartfelt, touching, and not at all like the main campaign, which is a welcome break for anyone that just wants the Dokis to be happy for a change. They lack the MC, and you are just observing what is going on with no narration or choices to be made.

To unlock all eight of them, you simply need to write poems for each of the main characters besides Monika. Do a playthrough where you focus only on writing Sayori poems, then Yuri, and then Natsuki. By the end of that effort, you’ll have access to Part 1 of all the side stories. Part 2, meanwhile, is unlocked by watching Part 1.

Once you’ve unlocked all of the side stories in DDLC Plus, start watching them in chronological order starting from Trust Part 1 and you’ll see how everything plays out in the correct order.

After you’ve watched every DDLC Plus side story (Trust, Understanding, Respect, Balance, Reflection, and Self-Love) you’ll unlock a bonus one known as Equals which will wrap up this bonus campaign.

That’s all you need to know for how to unlock all of the side stories in DDLC Plus. For more DDLC Plus, read our scored review. If you’re confused about some of the new features, check out our guide on the new in-game desktop.
