How to Roll and Dodge Attacks in Days Gone
You need to get used to facing each of the enemy types in Days Gone. Whether they be the hordes of freakers nibbling at your heels or the vicious bandits, they will attack you in very different ways. Knowing how to get out of danger quickly is vital. Here’s everything you need to know about how to roll and dodge in Days Gone.
Rolling Away From Danger
Rolling away from danger allows you to give yourself a little bit of time to compose yourself and aim your next attack. When you’re being rushed by freakers, just getting away can be a hard task.
By pressing R1, Deacon will roll out of the way, in the direction you’re holding the left thumbstick. However, it will use some of your precious stamina bar, which will be important if you want to get away even further and limit you to just a dodge or two in succession.
Stamina in Days Gone
Stamina is consumed in the game as you sprint. In our experience, Deacon runs out of stamina pretty quickly, forcing you to walk slowly between every few seconds of sprinting. While it’s frustrating to have to slowly run around the huge world, it’s probably designed to make you use the all important motorbike as often as you can.
It also takes quite a while to recover after you use it, refilling at the same speed whether you’re jogging, walking, or standing still. You are able to upgrade Deacon’s stamina at Nero Stations, however, which will help you sprint, roll, and dodge a lot more in the latter parts of the game.
