Using the Crafting Exploit in Cyberpunk 2077

If you’re investing in the Technical Ability attribute with the intention of focusing on the crafting aspect of Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll likely have noticed that it’s pretty difficult to gain crafting XP. You can get it by disassembling items, picking up crafting components, and crafting and upgrading items. However, the experience meter moves pretty slowly, and you’ll spend a long time chipping away at it before you make any significant progress with it.

That being said, there are a couple of crafting exploits that you can make use of to speed up your progress, and we’ve listed them down below.

MaxDoc Mk. 3

The MaxDoc Mk. 3 is an Epic tier healing item that can heal you up pretty easily, but it can also be used in a handy crafting exploit. First, head over to the Medpoint in Santo Domingo, as indicated in the screenshot down below.

Talk to the Medpoint NPC and purchase the MaxDoc Mk. 3 blueprint, and you’ll be able to start crafting it. This item only uses common and uncommon components, making it one of the cheapest items to craft. However, if you dismantle it, you’ll actually get epic crafting components back.

If you do this repeatedly to get epic components, you can then put them towards crafting other epic tier items for even more crafting XP. Rinse and repeat until you have enough XP, or until you run out of common and uncommon components.

Vending Machines

Alternatively, a less efficient crafting exploit can be used by examining vending machines around Night City. Find a vending machine that sells $10 items, and buy as many as you can carry. You can then dismantle them for uncommon components, and then use them to craft uncommon weapons.

Uncommon weapons give you more crafting XP than items, and can also be sold for extra cash.

That’s all you need to know about the crafting exploits in Cyberpunk 2077. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
