How to Unlock All Characters in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
As you have probably guessed, you don’t need to unlock every single character in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. There are eight characters unlocked from the beginning, which we’ve listed down below. If you want to get the remaining racers to flesh out your roster, however, you’ll need to put the work in to unlock them.
Unlocked from the Beginning

The remaining 17 racers in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled must be unlocked in different ways. We’ve explained how each one is unlocked briefly below.
- Ripper Roo – Defeat Ripper Roo in the Adventure Mode.
- Papu Papu – Defeat Papu Papu in the Adventure Mode.
- Komodo Joe – Defeat Komodo Joe in the Adventure Mode.
- Pinstripe – Defeat Pinstripe in the Adventure Mode.
- Fake Crash – Earn the Purple Gem in the Adventure Mode.
- Nitros Oxide – Defeat Nitros Oxide in the Adventure Mode.
- N. Tropy – Beat All of N. Tropy’s Times in Time Trial Mode
- Crunch – Unlockable in the Pit Stop.
- Krunk – Unlockable in the Pit Stop.
- Small Norm – Unlockable in the Pit Stop.
- Big Norm – Unlockable in the Pit Stop.
- Nash – Unlockable in the Pit Stop.
- N. Trance – Unlockable in the Pit Stop.

- Penta Penguin – From the main menu screen, enter the following cheat code for each platform:
- PS4: Hold L1+R1, Down, Right, Triangle, Down, Left, Triangle, Up
- Xbox One: Hold LB+RB, Down, Right, Y, Down, Left, Y, Up
- Nintendo Switch: Hold L+R, Down, Right, X, Down, Left, X, Up
How to Buy Items From the Pit Stop
As you’ve likely noticed, a lot of the brand-new characters that have arrived in Nitro-Fueled are only unlockable in the Pit Stop.
This requires players to use Wumpa Coins to purchase additional cosmetic items and characters for use within the game’s Adventure Mode, Time Trial, or offline and online multiplayer modes.
The Pit Stop can be accessed from the game’s main menu. Select it and you’ll be shown a screen of eight different items up for sale. These change every day, so if the item you’re looking for isn’t available when you check, you’ll have to keep checking in until it eventually pops up.
From what we can see currently, Geary can be purchased from the Pit Stop for 1500 Wumpa Coins. An additional skin for Fake Crash, however, will set you back 2500 Wumpa Coins.
This currency is earned by completing races both in the Adventure Mode and in multiplayer, too, so everything you do in the game is pushing you towards completing your collection of characters and skins.
How to Unlock All Character Skins in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
Just because some skins are purchased from the Item Shop, doesn’t mean they all are. In fact, a lot of the character skins in Nitro-Fueled require you to complete particular objectives or challenges with that specific character. We’ve listed all of these down below for your convenience.
Editor’s Note: You’ll always have to earn CTR Tokens or Relics within Adventure Mode, and any mention of ‘Pit Stop’ refers to purchasing the skin from there.
