How to Get Thick Leather in Conan Exiles

Recommended Videos

Conan Exiles is currently one of the free games available to PlayStation Plus subscribers and its crafting and survival systems can be pretty tricky to get to grips with. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get thick leather in Conan Exiles.

Thick Leather is a crafting item that is used in a whole host of armor and weapon recipes. It’s a big upgrade on standard leather, giving your character a better level of protection, but it’s not as flexible. To keep it useful and flexible, it needs to be oiled frequently.

You need to use the Tannery in Conan Exiles to get Thick Leather. There are a few different items that can be sure to get it, but the best thing to do would be to hunt large predators out in the game’s world and use the Thick Hide that they drop once you kill them.

Once you’ve killed the likes of Bear, Rhinos, and Elephants, you need to use the Tannery by placing the hide and some bark in the slots there.

Once you’ve turned it on, you’ll see the Thick Leather begin to craft and you’ll get it alongside some Tar. Do note, however, that you’ll need to be level 10 to use the Tannery.

Once you’ve got all the Thick Leather you need, you’ll be able to craft new armor or weapons to protect you out in Conan Exiles’ world.

You can check out the full list of what can be crafted here, but most required the base lining for the armor piece or a steel bar of some kind, as well as a set amount of Chitin too. You’ll also gain experience as you craft.

That’s everything you need to know about how to get thick leather in Conan Exiles. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
