How to Use Old World Materials in Code Vein

Old World Materials are one of the many items that can drop from enemies when you kill them, and you’ll no doubt rack up a few just by playing the game normally.

Where to Take Old World Materials

The resource is used for really just one thing, exchanging for valuables that you can then use to trade with characters at your Home Base.

In order to use the materials, you’ll first need to clear the first area of the game, Ruined City Underground. Now here’s a walkthrough of what to do.

  1. Go to the Ruined City Underground Area

  2. Spawn at the Outer Crossroads Mistle.

  3. Straight ahead you’ll see a Revenant named Shang. Talk to him.

  4. Shang will let you exchange Old World Materials for a variety of valuables.

To use these Valuables, go to Home Base and talk to any character then select Exchange. Giving Valuables lets you build up Trade Points with that character, which you can then use to receive rare and useful items or weapons.

Getting More Old World Materials

As we said already, the materials drop off enemies when you kill them, so grinding enemies is certainly the best way to get more.

There is a way to help with the process, however. The Hermes Blood Code has a Passive Gift called Revenant’s Greed, which boosts the likelihood that enemies will drop items when they die.

You can get Hermes by talking to Davis at Home Base.

That’s everything you need to know about how to use Old World Materials in Code Vein.
