Code Vein is Bandai Namco’s stylish mashup of Souls-like gameplay design and an anime aesthetic. But it does a bit more than simply reskin FromSoftware’s blueprint, adding its own set of mechanics that help it stand apart as something unique. This includes the Blood Gift system, which requires Ichor to use. If you’re wondering how to get Ichor in Code Vein, here’s the low down.
As we alluded to above, Ichor is essentially Code Vein’s equivalent of AP, which governs your use of Gifts (abilities).
At the right side of the screen, you’ll see your Ichor number, and each Blood Code has a different total for you to play around with. Some codes that are more focused on Gift and therefore give you a plentiful supply, while others are focused on physical power and give you comparatively little.
Code Vein Ichor – How to Get It
Each time you hit an enemy with your weapon you’ll drain a bit of Ichor out, and each time the gauge next to your Ichor number fills up you gain one Ichor.
Holding down X/A lets you charge a Drain Attack, which drains a significant amount from enemies if you hit them. You can loop a quick drain attack into your combo by pressing R1/Right Bumper+X/A.
Additionally, if you successfully pull off a parry or back attack you’ll do a Drain Attack. Finally, you can restore your supplies immediately by using consumable items like Ichor Concentrate.
That should give you everything you need to know about how to get Ichor in Code Vein. For more useful tips and guides on the game, be sure to search our wiki guide.
