In Warzone, getting a loadout is vital to winning. At this point, almost everyone is using the same small subset of weapons, headlined by the Grau 5.56 assault rifle, but the perks see a bit more variety. So that you can get some insight into which to use during your assault on Verdansk, here is everything you need to know about what the best perks in CoD Warzone are.
Perks can only be obtained by getting your loadout via drops that occur naturally during a match or can be bought for $10,000 from Buy Stations. You need to decide what they are by setting up loadouts before the match begins and will be activated once you choose it in-game and will deactivate once you die (even if you’re re-spawned).
What the Best Perks Are in CoD Warzone
Perk 1
Cold-Blooded: Undetectable by AI targeting systems and thermal optics. Does not trigger High Alert warning
Double Time: Doubles the duration of Tactical Sprint. Increases crouch movement speed by 30%
E.O.D: Take reduced damage from non-killstreak explosives and fire.
The Perk 1 slot is the one with the most decent options. Cold-blooded is great because it makes you a lot harder to spot and mark when coming up against players using thermal scopes (particularly snipers).
The frequency of players using thermals has dropped recently, so it’s not as vital as it used to be, but it’s still great.
If you’d prefer to make escaping easier, Double Time is worthwhile, and E.O.D is great at minimizing the effect of RPGs and C4s, which are extremely overpowered in Warzone. Using the E.O.D perk means you’re less likely to be killed in one hit by them.
Perk 2 – What the Best Perks Are in CoD Warzone
Overkill: Carry two primary weapons.
Ghost: Undetectable by UAVs, Radar Drones, and Heartbeat Sensors.
Perk 2 is the most important in Warzone and you’re going to choose between two perks. Early in the game, Overkill is good to grab when you get your first loadout, as it allows you to take two weapons that can help you in different situations.
However, in the late game, Ghost is vital to have. Players creep around with heartbeat sensors out and UAVs are popping everywhere, and your exact position can be given away at the wrong time.
You need to stay hidden so that you can surprise enemies and using the Ghost perk makes it so much easier.
If you’re able to get two loadouts, you can take Ghost classes twice, allowing you to keep two kinds of weapons, negating the need for Overkill and keeping you hidden.
Perk 3
Tracker: Enemies leave behind a footprint trail. See markers at enemy death locations and hide the death markers of enemies you kill.
Amped: Faster weapon swap and rocket launcher reload speed.
Perk 3 is the least important because the options aren’t particularly helpful. Tracker is great when you’re approaching houses that you know enemies are in, but you’re not able to pinpoint where they are exactly.
Amped, on the other hand, can give you the upper hand in fire fights when you’re having to switch quickly to shorter ranger weapons. If you’re able to start firing before your opponent, you’ll be more likely to survive.
Below is the perk selection I use most of the time and it’s proving to be well rounded and useful in most situations.
