The island has tons of little caverns and other nooks and crannies that the snacks can be hiding in. Being the journalist you are, you’re going to need to get your hands dirty if you want the scoop. How to Crouch in Bugsnax
You’re going to find yourself in some situations in Bugsnax that can lead you to end up in places like in the image below. A dark cavern with no obvious way to escape. Luckily, you can press the circle button on the PS4 controller (or equivalent on other platforms) to crouch down and sneak out of places.
You’ll remain crouched after pressing the button, and to get back to your normal stance, press the same button again. It’s really that simple. You can also crouch behind rocks or walls to hide from Bugsnax that you’re trying to capture. If it sees you, it’s going to hide and won’t fall for your devious contraptions.
If a Bugsnak keeps retreating to an area, you might be too close to it, so back up and hide until it’s caught. It’s also worth noting that you can jump with the X button out of a crouched position as well.
