What Artifacts Do in Borderlands 3

Artifacts are essentially attachments that you can get for your gear in the game. Once you’ve got them, you can add them to guns you’ve already got to make them more effective in combat.

Each Artifact has a different effect too, boosting stats such as elemental effects, or giving you bonus damage to particular enemy types.

Once you start being able to use them, they can be very helpful in improving your combat strength and versatility.

How to Get Artifacts

As for how you actually get them, you can’t right from the start of Borderlands 3. You need to wait until you’ve beaten then ECHO-6 storyline and the vault monster at the end of it.

Then, not long after you get your hands on the Eridian Synchronizer item while on the hunt for the second vault, Artifacts will begin to drop randomly from enemies and you will be able to purchase them from vending machines, find them in Golden Chest drops, or acquire them through SHiFT codes.

Then, all you need to do is equip them to your loadout and head back into the action.

  1. Artifacts are items that you can equip to your loadout to improve certain stats.

  2. You need to finish the ECHO-6 questline and get the Eridian Synchronizer before you can use them.

They will drop from enemies, you can purchase them from vending machines, find them in Golden Chest drops, or acquire them through SHiFT codes.
