Past games in the Borderlands series have featured the ability to duel and PvP your friends and strangers that you meet up with. Borderlands 3 retains this feature. In this guide we’re going to talk about how to duel and PvP in Borderlands 3.
How to Duel & PvP in Borderlands 3
It’s worth noting that while Borderlands 3 does have PvP, it’s really not designed or balanced at all for it. Borderlands is a cooperative PvE game at its core, and dueling is really just meant to be something you do for laughs with friends to see who has the best character or stuff. Someone is probably going to annihilate the other.
To start a duel in Borderlands 3, first you must obviously be in a lobby with other people, preferably friends.
Then, simply melee the person that you want to duel. If they melee back, the duel is on and friendly fire is turned on for you and whoever you’re PvPing. You can now hurt each other until someone is killed.
That’s pretty much the extent of PvP in Borderlands 3, there’s not much else to it. Again, it’s not meant to be a defining feature for the game by any means. It’s just there to screw around with if you want.
How to Start a Duel in Borderlands 3
- Start a game with another person.
- Melee the person you want to duel and have them melee back to start the PvP.
- Kill each other, last person standing wins.
If you’re looking for a more competitive version of co-op, you can switch on coopetition mode which brings back the old system fighting over loot with your friends.
