How to Carry More Ammo in Borderlands 3

Of course, ammo is crucial in video games, especially Borderlands. How are you supposed to cause carnage without any ammo? Well, luckily we are here to give you the answers right here.

In order to carry more ammo you’ll need to upgrade your SDU (Storage Deck Upgrade). To do this you’ll need to purchase these upgrades from Marcus’ Munitions on your ship.

The SDU upgrade center can be found in Marcus’ room on the space ship once you’ve left Pandora through the main campaign.

Each ammo type has its own SDU and will require each upgrade to be purchased separately. After purchasing an upgrade you’ll be able to keep upgrading, but the price will increase.

If you prefer a specific type of weapon it’s probably best to go after those SDU upgrades first. This way you can carry more ammo for your favorite types of weapons to ensure you can always use them.

All SDUs require cash to upgrade, and it can start to add up after a while which also includes backpack inventory upgrades in general as well. So make sure you’re being selective about the ones you choose to invest your cash into.

Down below you can find a recap of how to carry more ammo in Borderlands 3.

  1. Go to Sanctuary 3

At your ship, you’ll find Marcus’ Munitions which is where you can upgrade your SDU for specific ammo types.

  2. Purchase Upgrade

Purchase upgrades for the ammo type you want to increase. Each upgrade will be more expensive than the last.
