Bloodstained Ritual of the Night: How to Get All Endings

15 Best Steam Winter Sale 2019 Deals

As a spiritual successor to the Castlevania series, Bloodstained Ritual of the Night shares many features with its predecessor, including multiple endings. However, some of these endings are gated behind scavenger hunts that require you to find particular items and use them in specific ways. Since it’s not always clear what you need and how to retrieve it, here’s a quick guide on how to get all endings in Bloodstained Ritual of the Night. Since this is an endings guide, there will be spoilers from here on out.

How to Get all Endings in Bloodstained Ritual of the Night

The First Bad Ending

Approximately halfway through Bloodstained Ritual of the Night, you will discover the Hall of Termination (you need the Reflector Ray shard to enter the level, though). Gebel, the main antagonist of the game, waits in the topmost room.

You can fight Gebel at any time once you find his room since it is near the Hall of Termination’s fast travel room. The fight is not difficult, but that should be your first hint that not everything is as it seems. After all, final bosses are traditionally hard.

Regardless, once you enter Gebel’s room, you have no choice but to fight him. If you defeat him, you will receive the Just a Flicker achievement, as well as a Game Over.

The Second Bad Ending

If you resist the urge to fight Gebel and instead explore the rest of Bloodstained Ritual of the Night’s castle, you will eventually come across a path of spikes in the main entrance hall. While you can’t reach the spikes without the Invert shard, you also can’t pass the spikes without the Aegis Plate.

Obtaining Invert is a chore in and of itself. You first need to enter the Forbidden Underground Waterway, which is blocked by a fountain of blood that can only be removed with the Blood Steal shard that drops from the Bloodless boss.

To fully explore the waterway, you need the Aqua Jet shard. Since this shard is randomly dropped from the Deeseama enemies in the level, RNG plays a small part in progression. If the shard doesn’t drop immediately, just keep killing Deeseama until it does. Once you have Aqua Jet, though, you can essentially “swim” underwater and reach the Hidden Desert by exploring the waterway.

The boss of the Hidden Desert drops the Deep Sinker shard, which is needed to enter the Inferno Cave (as well as open the underwater chests in the Forbidden Underground Waterway). Defeat the Inferno Cave boss, and you will finally receive Invert. Finally, use Invert to retrieve the Aegis Plate, which is located in the “room” where you fought Valac in the Towers of the Twin Dragons.

With Invert and the Aegis Plate in hand, you can finally pass the hall of spikes and enter the Oriental Sorcery Lab. The boss fight in this level is none other than a rematch with Zangetsu, and when you defeat him, you will obtain the His Blade achievement and the Zangetsuto weapon.

If you use the Zangetsuto to kill Gebel, you will receive the Usurper achievement and another Game Over.

The Good Ending

After you have obtained the Zangetsuto, you may notice that the moon turns red during your fight with Gebel. When it does, stop fighting Gebel and instead attack the moon. Yes, seriously. Doing so will reveal the true final boss of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, but you can’t fight them just yet.

To actually challenge the final boss, you need to attack yet another red moon, which is located in the Garden of Silence. Cut this moon with the Zangetsuto, and you will be teleported to the final level. Make your way through this level, defeat the boss at the end, and you will receive Bloodstained Ritual of the Night’s good ending, as well as another achievement.

That’s all you need to know about how to obtain all the endings in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. For more Bloodstained tips, tricks, and guides, stick with Twinfinite.
