Best Shards in Bloodstained Ritual of the Night

Conjure

Cerulean Splash: Obtained from Seema at Galleon Minerva.

This is the very first Shard you’ll get in Bloodstained Ritual of the Night and, believe it or not, it’s actually pretty useful for early parts of the game. It fires a ball of water at enemies, and as you upgrade it, it can bounce further to hit more foes with increased damage.

Welcome Company: Obtained from Poltergeist at Dian Cecht Cathedral, Towers of Twin Dragons.

Another early Shard you can get in the game, Welcome Company becomes insanely broken if you keep upgrading it. Not only does it protect you from some incoming damage, it also hurts enemies in your vicinity. Pair this with the Rhava Bural for an invincibility build.

Riga Storaema: Obtained from Nyabon at Castle Entrance and Dian Cecht Cathedral.

Riga Storaema is best used with Riga Dohin, which we’ll get to later on. Essentially, this Shard lets you summon pillars of flames from the ground to deal continuous damage, and works well against groups and single enemies.

Directional

Heretical Grinder: Obtained from Blood Grinder Knight at Castle Entrance.

Hands down, Heretical Grinder is one of the very best Shards you’ll find in Bloodstained Ritual of the Night. Upgrade it enough, and it’ll carry you through the entire game. The range becomes pretty nuts when upgraded, and is easily the best Shard for continuous DPS. Best used against bosses or just hard to reach enemies.

Riga Dohin: Obtained by upgrading Riga Storaema.

As mentioned earlier, Riga Dohin is best used together with Riga Storaema. Whereas Storaema summons flame pillars from the ground, Dohin lets you throw fireballs at your enemies, making this a pretty deadly flame combo that’s useful for both regular enemies and bosses.

Passive

Words of Wisdom: Obtained from Poison Toad at Dian Cecht Cathedral and Hall of Termination.

All the best Shards in the world won’t do you any good if you don’t have the MP to actually use them, and this is where Words of Wisdom comes in. This Shard reduces your MP consumption, and is one of the few that’s actually worth upgrading all the way to max rank.

Those are our picks for the best Shards to use in Bloodstained Ritual of the Night so far. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
