How to Play Co-Op Multiplayer Online in Bloodborne

Recommended Videos

Bloodborne is a great game to test how hard you can rage quit, but it’s even better to go through it with friends! Or strangers online, of course. So, in order to go around kickin’ creepy butts in the game with others, this is how you can play co-op multiplayer online within the game.

First, you’re going to need The Beckoning Bell (used to call others) and the Small Resonant Bell (used to put yourself as available for calling). You can buy both of these from the Insight Shop in the Hunter’s Dream.

To join someone’s game, you have to use the Small Resonant Bell and simply wait. If you get summoned, you’ll be in their world. You can never be summoned to a totally different area than the one you’re in, though. So, for example, if you use the bell in Yarnum, you’ll appear in the other player’s Yarnum. Once you help that player defeat whatever boss, you’ll be back to your own world.

If you want someone to join you, you need to ring the Beckoning Bell, but you also need to spend one point of Insight (gained by encountering bosses, defeating bosses, and using an item called Madman’s Knowledge). Once you ring it, you’ll need to wait for someone to join in.

If you want to do the above but make sure you’re with friends while you do it, you need to set a password. Head to your Game Settings, put Password Only in the online settings, tell your friend the password, have them input it, and from there you’ll be able to join each other’s games.

Oh, and if you’re tired of people being in your game, you can use the Silencing Blank to send them away.
