How to Parry in Bloodborne
Bloodborne is a pretty difficult game as is, so you’re going to want to use all the techniques at your disposal. This includes such offensive tactics as parrying. Here’s exactly how you can score some extra damage and avoid getting hit with a parry.
To parry, you’re first and foremost going to need to have a gun equipped into your left hand. Keep in mind for this that the Hunter Pistol is better than the blunderbuss when it comes to this because it’s faster and gives you more reaction time. So, when your opponent’s arm is raised up and ready to strike, you’re going to want press L2 and you’ll hit them first. You’ll have a generous amount of time to pull this off and will hear a sort of ding when you know you’ve done it.
Once you do, walk up to their dazed self and press R1 to do that sweet extra damage. Be quick about this, though, because you’ll only have a couple of seconds to pull it off. This is an excellent way to get rid of enemies quickly.
