Biomutant: How to Change Tribe

As you make your way across Biomutant’s wasteland, you’ll meet the various Tribes that control different sections of it. Some are good and are best to side with if you’ve got a Light Aura, while some are evil and have no good intentions for the Tree of Life (or the world) at all and are best to side with if you’ve got a Dark Aura. Here’s how to change Tribe in Biomutant.

It’s worth pointing out here that just because you’ve sided with either Jagni or Myriad Tribe at the beginning of the game, you’re not stuck with them for the remainder of your adventure, nor do you need to keep your Light (or Dark) Aura.

All Tribes & Their Aura

There are six Tribes in Biomutant that you can align with throughout the game, and we’ve listed them all below.

  • Myriad – Maximum Light – The Myriad Tribe act on understanding of the greater good and a code of honor. They want to unite the Tribes, defeat the Worldeaters and save the Tree of Life.
  • LotusMaximum Dark – The Lotus Tribe seeks to build a perfect order, regardless how many are hurt in the process. They want to subdue the Tribes and let the Worldeaters destroy the Tree of Life.
  • AnkatiLight – The Ankati tribe believe that solidarity is what is needed to keep the world in balance. They want to unite the Tribes, defeat the Worldeaters and save the Tree of Life.
  • JagniDark – The Jagni Tribe wants to become omnipresent and most importantly, feared. They want to vanquish the Tribes and let the Worldeaters destroy the Tree of Life.
  • NetraSomewhat Light – The Netra Tribe values liberty and strive to protect freedom. They want to separate the Tribes, defeat the Worldeaters and save the Tree of Life.
  • PichuSomewhat Dark – The Pichu Tribe supports natural evolution and the dogma that only the strong survive. They want to vanquish the Tribes and let the Worldeaters destroy the Tree of Life.

Changing Tribes in Biomutant

To change Tribes in Biomutant, simply head to their Sifu (leader) and speak with them. You’ll then be given the option to side with them, and after a bit more dialogue (translated by the rather annoying narrator), you’ll then be successfully aligned with them instead.

It’s worth pointing out that depending on your Aura, you may not be able to change Tribe. For example, if your Aura is at Maximum Light, and you try and align with the Jagni Tribe (maximum Dark), you won’t be able to. You’ll instead need to build up your Dark Aura score, or try changing to one of the other Tribes instead.
