There are only so many careers The Sims 4 offers you in the base game and expansion/game packs. After a while, the same old doctor/chef/business career paths tend to get a little boring.

That’s why the lovely Sims 4 modding community has literally made hundreds of new and unique career mods for you to choose from.

Here are some of the best Sims 4 career mods out there for you to download, as well as a long list of some honorable mentions that are definitely worth your time as well.

YouTuber Career

The first career mod on this list allows your sim to become a popular YouTuber with a ton of options as to what type of content they make for their channel.

After they reach level five of the career path, they can choose to be a Gamer, Vlogger, DIYer, Make-Up Artist/Beauty Blogger, FX Makeup Artist, or have a cooking channel.

The descriptions for the levels mimic what it’s like for YouTubers trying to make a living from their content. Like a money spike right when you reach the point where you can start monetizing your videos.

Educator Career

While an offical teacher career path was added to The Sims 4 with the release of Discover University expansion pack, this educator career path mod is admittedly better.

In it you can choose between Academia, Education Products and Services, Policy and Advocacy, and School Leadership.

In the Discover University expansion, you can only choose between a Professor and an Administrator.

The mod also has realistic payments for teachers, who are notoriously underpaid. It’s only when you start getting high up in the career path that it starts paying out, and it’s designed to have your sim be an elder by that point so it feels more true to life (unfortunately).

Tattoo Artist Career

If you have an artsy sim covered in a bunch of ink, this Tattoo Artist career path mod would be a perfect fit.

You can rise in the ranks from an Apprenticeship to a Legendary Tattoo Shop Owner.

There is also the option for teens to take part in the career path as well, allowing them to reach level three before unlocking the whole path when they reach adulthood for a jump start.

Paranormal Career

This Paranormal career path mod is a re-creation of the original one from The Sims 2: University expansion pack.

The daily pay, work hours, and workdays are the same as they were in The Sims 2.

You start out as a Psychic Phone Pal, and as you progress you will earn the title of Tarot Card Reader, Medium, UFO Investigator, and much more.

The chance cards that pop up for this career path and especially fun, and have you making some pretty interesting choices.

Singer Career

This career path mod allows your sims to start in dive bars and work their way up to superstar singers.

There are five different tracks to choose from which are available when you reach level five of the career. They include Boyband, Girl Group, One Hit Wonder, Performer, and Vocalist.

To be more realistic, the Boyband and Girl Groups tracks will earn less money following the idea that they would have to split their earning with the other members of the group.

Ministry of Magic Careers

Harry Potters fans will love this set of careers that are all focused on witches and wizards who work for the Ministry of Magic.

This is one of the most detailed career mods out there, as not only does it have a bunch of tracks but all the descriptions and windows for the careers are super detailed with Harry Potter lore and facts.

Starting as a basic Ministry Worker, you can choose to following tracks:

  • Department of Magical Law Enforcement
  • Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes
  • Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures
  • Department of International Magical Cooperation
  • Department of Magical Transportation
  • Department of Magical Games and Sports
  • Department of Mysteries

Dancer Career

With this mod, your sim can follow five tracks including Choreographer, Classical Ballet, Instructor, Modern Dance, and Street Dance.

It’s one of the most popular mods ever on Mod The Sims, with over 130,000 downloads at the time of writing. Make sure to try it out for your more fitness driven sims for a new alternative besides the Athletic career.

Cosmetic Career

Delve into the beauty industry with this mod that offers careers relating to cosmetology.

It’s get for those sims that love make-up, hair, clothes, and all things appearance.

You can choose between Hairdresser, Make-Up Artist, Nail Stylist, or Perfumer tracks once you reach level three of the career path. The first two jobs before that point are MUD Studio Berlin Academy and Intern.
