Jurassic Craft
This absolutely massive Minecraft PE mod includes 19 different dinosaurs with their own special sets of behaviors all in one, with a few allowing you to tame and ride them as well. While herbivores are passive, you’ll need to be careful around carnivores who will hunt and kill you if spotted. Some of the dinosaurs include Raptors, T-Rexes, the Indominus Rex from the film Jurassic World, Triceratops’, and more. You’ll even spot some of the dumber Dodo birds roaming around. Make sure to pair it with the Jurassic Craft World Map and you’ll be in for quite of few hours of dinosaur fun on Minecraft PE.
Blu’s Minigame Map
The Blu’s Minigame Map has numerous different minigames including Hide & Seek, Disasters, King of the Hill, and more in a bunch of different rooms designed for each game. You’ll begin your spawn in a siege lobby where where you protect a snow golem from attacking mobs, and with all minigames you have the option to play them in multiplayer or single player. It was recently updated in early February as well with a few quick fixes and additions, including new spells, reworked reward system, new weapons, and tons more. Be sure to try out this mod with a friend of two.
Entity 303 The Final Shadow
In this adventure mode titled Entity 303 The Final Shadow you are tasked with investigating the killings of various knights by the villainous Entity 303. As mankind fights the shadows, you too will battle enemies to find Entity 303 and finally kill him before his army can arise again. Quite a few people in the comments section of the mod page are already clamoring for a part two, continuing on the theme of following a Minecraft creepypasta of the same name where Entity 303 was created as revenge against Mojang by a former employee. You’ll just have to play to find out how it ends, and if Entity 303 ever gets his intended revenge.
Find the Button: Rooms Edition
This mod copies the popular minigame mod trend where a button is hidden somewhere in a normal looking environment and you have to search everywhere until you press it to continue on to the next area. This mod is the Rooms Edition of that concept, where you look through various decorated rooms to find the hidden button without actually breaking any blocks. You can play it in single player or multiplayer, and it even comes with a hint book in case you really get stumped and want a little help to progress.
The Lines
The Lines mod features 10 parkour levels in dark and hard to see environments where you jump from obstacle to obstacle to progress to the end. To make it even harder, straight red lines are scattered throughout the map to distort your vision and make it difficult to land jumps correctly. So much so that the mod even has a warning stating “If you have eye or retina problems then you should avoid playing this map.” If you’re all good on the vision front, try out this parkour mod and see if you can beat all 10 levels!
Slope Blocks Mod
The Slope Blocks Mod is great for builders who want their builds to look a bit more natural and less blocky and rigid. When installed you are able to reshape blocks so they have curved and smoother edges. See above how the various exampled blocks look as though they have been eroded over time. These shapes would be great if you wanted to make an old cobblestone cottage that looks as though it’s been crumbling over the years, or a whole forgotten town that has been deserted after a zombie apocalypse. You can access these blocks from the creative directory, or by their own special crafting recipes once installed.
Deep Sea Add-On
This revamped add-on titled Deep Sea adds a whole ocean world accessible by a Deep Sea portal, AKA a normal Nether portal. Five sea mobs are included: the sea turtle, anglerfish, seabed people, vortex enemy, and moorish idol. Once you pass through the portal you’ll feel as though you’re underwater with aquatic noises, environments, and even bubbles slowly drifting upwards. This mod essentially turns the Nether area into a sea area, and is likely inspired by the Update Aquatic set to release sometime to Minecraft in Q2 2018. That true update will include new mobs (including Phantoms, dolphins, fish, and turtles), blocks, enchantments, generated structures, and an ocean biome. While you wait, check out the Deep Sea add-on for a nice distraction before the real thing.
3D Blocks
This mod titled 3D Blocks (Tessellation) allows for even more detail in your Minecraft building by adding additional three-dimensional details to normally flat blocks. Blocks with textures will have edges jutting out, without getting in the way of stacking the blocks on top of each other. Some fun details with this mod are the furnace actually showing the items being created in the top section of the oven, and wooden logs cut from trees are cylinder-shaped instead of cubed. More updates are said to be on the way for this mod, with slight fixes to textures and even more blocks adapted into this format. Make sure to download it and check out what’s done now, or check back later when hopefully the whole game is adapted into a more detailed 3D format.
Two Player Horse Riding
A new add-on released earlier in the month allows you and a friend to both ride one horse at the same time, with one of you in the normal saddle area and the second directly behind the first. The first player who gets on the horse will be the one who controls it, making it easier for one person to escort another to a specific area of the map they want to show them. The person in the back is even able to take out a weapon while riding, so make sure to get out that bow and put it to use against some enemy mobs while your buddy controls the horse itself.
