First things first, there are two types of currency in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Coins and Planetary Coins. Coins are a currency familiar to anybody who has played a Mario game, they are just the classic Mario Coins. You can probably hear them now. You’ll be able to find these all over the place in the overworld as well as earn them through battles.

Planetary Coins are a bit different as they are limited, a bit more difficult to obtain, and specific to a planet. This means that you will only be able to use a Planetary Coin on the planet that the coin belongs to and you cannot save them for use on another planet.

With that, it’s time to start looking at the best items you’ll want to put your hard-earned cash toward.

Healing Items

The likelyhood of your characters taking damage is high so healing is going to be very important. If you don’t want to use Rabbid Peach on your team as a healer, the best alternative is to buy plenty of Super Mushrooms, Super Mushroom Bags, Super Mushroom Chests, or Super Mushroom Chest DXs. These will come in handy when your character’s need a bit of HP to make it to the end of a mission.

Move Boost

Some of the most difficult missions in the game can be the Reach Area missions or Survive missions. Both of them require you to weave past enemies and make sure you are able to avoid getting hit by too many of their attacks along the way.

The Move Boost item allows you to start a brand new move phase from where you are on the battlefield. Typically, after a character uses their main weapon, they can no longer move. The Move Boost lets you pick up and run again so you can make an escape after moving in for an attack.

Cool Down Clock

After using a Spark or Technique, you have to wait a certain amount of turns before you are able to activate them again. The Cool Down Clock lets you ignore that and immediately refreshes your Spark and Techniques for immediate use.

It does use one of your moves to use the item, but when you are out of Sparks and Techniques and an enemy has disabled your attack, sometimes this is going to get you out of a bad situation by letting you utilize them

Planet Keys

It may be tempting to go for the cheaper items with your Planetary Coins, but it would be a mistake not to save up for a Planet Key. Each Planet has one of these and they are the most expensive item because they can be used to unlock a special mission where you will be able to recruit a new Spark.

Star Potions

Remember what we said about not giving into the temptation to buy something cheap with your Planetary Coins? Well, scratch that and spend them on Star Potions. Star Potions only cost one Planetary Coin and there are two available on every planet meaning that you can get them both for the low price of two Planetary Coins.

Why is it worth buying Star Potions? This item is used to level up your Spark immediately without paying with Star Bits. This is especially beneficial when you are trying to get your Sparks to level four or five because the prices on those upgrades are pretty high.

These items are the absolute best in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope and are sure to give you the most benefits on your journey. Save for these and you won’t have to think too hard whenever you reach a shop in the game.
