10. Cynthia’s Ambition (Full Art)

Cynthia’s Ambition is a card that’s frightfully popular due to the memories of Cynthia being a terrible foe for players of the Pokémon Diamond & Pearl video games, and this card art proves it. She also returned in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl to cause more trouble so it’s about time she made a reappearance in the TCG.

For players of the game, she helps you draw a large amount of cards if one of your Pokémon were knocked out by your opponent in the previous turn. That makes her a great all-around Support card to help you replenish your hand when it gets low.

Another creepy card, Acerola’s Premonition alludes to the character’s affinity for ghost Pokémon, but overall has a nice, pleasing illustration with its purple, blue, black, and tan tones. Acerola originated from the Sun & Moon video games and eventually becomes one of the high-level Elite Four to represent the Alola Region, helping make her one of the standout favorites for fans of the franchise.

Although her Support effect may not be the most consistent in TCG play, this card will be a great pull since it helps complete the Gym Leaders cards and has cool art.

8. Lumineon V (Alternate Art, Ultra Rare)

Lumineon V’s alternate art has cartoon fish vibes in-line with famous movies from American and Japanese anime, and that makes this an attractive card for collectors due to its fun artwork. The value of this card has also increased and holds a steady price thanks to competitive decks running this card since its Luminous Sign ability that lets you search for any Supporter card you want.

Being from the Trainer Gallery, the Umbreon VMAX has epic artwork that makes it a sight to behold in any collector’s binder or when on display. That alone will make this a valuable card with a steady price, and it may not be currently seeing competitive play at the moment, Umbreon cards have been used in the past to succeed. If you pull this card, you’ll enjoy its striking art and can be proud to show it off.

6. Arceus VSTAR (Secret)

The Arceus VSTAR gold rare is among the hardest to pull from the set, so you’ll want to pop off if you open this guy up. Arceus is a regal-looking Pokémon that’s also the headliner for the video game of the same name, which means Arceus is directly involved in the main plot of the story. It’s also a powerful card for competitive play in the TCG, with one of the strongest decks focusing on building its strategy around Arceus.

Mimikyu-VMAX---SWSH09--Brilliant-Stars-Trainer-Gallery--1

Mimikyu VMAX from the Trainer Gallery has awesome art that shows Acerola and a host of colorful flowers. Mimikyu is sure to always be an underrated fan-favorite Pokémon, due to his tragic story of wanting to be like Pikachu, a dream that’s strummed the heartstrings of fans. This card is not currently being played a lot in the TCG, but if you want to build a deck around it, it does feature a powerful damaging ability that works as a combo with the aforementioned Acerola’s Premonition.

4. Charizard V (Full Art)(Ultra Rare)

Next to Pikachu, Charizard is the most famous Pokémon and definitely has iterations that have been some of the most valuable cards of all time. With this set, Charizard makes a comeback with several cards on this list, and each one of them has unique collectibility to it. This full art is the first of the bunch on the list and features a classic Charizard pose with a nice turquoise background that really makes the card pop.

3. Arceus V (Alternate Art)(Ultra Rare)

The alternate art Arceus is truly epic and is a collector’s dream pull thanks to its awesome artwork, competitive viability, and low-pull rate. Known as the Pokémon of origin aka the creator of the others, this has to be the more powerful of them all. Arceus is the star of the recent video game and also sees plenty of play in TCG tournaments, which makes this a surefire hit and a must-have.

2. Charizard VSTAR (Rainbow Rare)(Secret)

Back at number two, the Charizard VSTAR rainbow rare does what it’s supposed to, it’s hard to get, super colorful, and features a striking pose for its featured Pokémon. The action-packed depiction of Charizard looks mighty, and the hue of rainbow colors is always super appealing. All rainbow rares look amazing in-person, and this card is no exception, so all collectors can’t wait to get their hands on one and include it in their special binders.

To nobody’s surprise, the scarcest Charizard V card to pull, the alternate full art, makes our number one card on this Sword and Shield: Brilliant Stars list.
