How to Enable Debug Mode in BattleTech

Recommended Videos

BattleTech is the latest mech-based strategy RPG from Harebrained Schemes. The game allows players to customize, build and command their very own team of mechs. The game is incredibly versatile, letting players tweak everything from weapon loadout to pilot stats, resulting in a truly complex and rewarding strategy experience. Having been financed in part by a KickStarter in order to include more features at launch, BattleTech has both single player and multiplayer modes. There is a Skirmish Mode where you can tweak the exact parameters of a mission, but for those looking for even more control over the game, you’re going to want to check out the Debug Mode.

Naturally, there isn’t any obvious debug mode in the game but you can access it by downloading a third-party file. This one from WeMod allows you to make changes to the game, adding in everything from insta-kills to unlimited resources and money. Just download and install the file and you’ll be set and ready to go. There is also a selection of Cheat Trainers available online, with more and more options being added each day. Be aware that some of these options do involve signing up for a membership, though there are plenty of free ones too. One of the main uses for entering Debug Mode is to speed the game up, given how slow BattleTech can be when waiting for enemies to act.

If you’re looking to access the code for yourself, there are some tips on how to do so over on the game’s Reddit page. For more on BattleTech, be sure to check out our other guides. For new players, the game can be quite daunting from the outset, so be sure to use our beginner’s tips and tricks guide.
