Battlefield 1: How to Get Scraps and What They Do

Break down those weapons skins.

Getting Scraps in Battlefield 1

Recommended Videos

Battlefield 1’s multiplayer lets you purchase Battlepacks to unlock new weapons, skins, and more. The two different ways of getting Battlepacks are by either receiving one in a random drop after a match, or purchasing one with Scrap.

The trick here though, is that you can only get Scrap through Battlepacks, so it’s a bit of a circle. You’ll need to play at least for a while until you’re able to get a few Battlepacks. Then, any weapon skins you receive in the pack can be dismantled for Scrap. The three different rarity types of weapons result in the different amounts, as you can see below.

  • Special – 30 Scrap
  • Distinguished – 90 Scrap
  • Legendary – 270 Scrap

Once you’ve dismantled your weapon skins, you can use the resulting currency to buy Battlepacks of varying rarity. Here’s the three different purchasable kinds.

  • Battlepack – 200 Scrap, weapon skin of any kind
  • Enhanced Battlepack – 450 Scrap, increased chance of a Legendary skin and bonus item
  • Superior Battlepack – 900 Scrap, guaranteed Legendary and higher chance of bonus item

Of course, it’s important to remember that in order to use any weapon skin you get in a pack, you’ll need to have the weapon purchased and unlocked. So get out there and start playing multiplayer matches, because you’ll need all that Scrap to unlock some sweet weapon skins.
