In this Assassin’s Creed Valhalla PS4 Pro and Xbox One X enhancements guide, we’ll be talking through what improvements you can expect to see in performance when playing on the more powerful current-gen consoles, compared to the standard Xbox One and PS4.
While the PS5 and Xbox Series X may be the new, all powerful kids on the block, the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X aren’t being left out in the cold. Both consoles will still receive enhanced versions of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla over the standard PS4 and Xbox One versions.
You don’t have to buy a special copy of the game, just get the standard PS4/ Xbox One version of the game and your console will do the rest of the legwork for you. So what enhancements will you notice playing on PS4 Pro or Xbox One X?
AC Valhalla PS4 Pro & Xbox One X Enhancements
Both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X versions of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will run at 4K/ 30FPS.
While that 4K resolution may seem quite impressive, given that it’s the same as the PS5 and Series X’s, the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X will make use of dynamic resolution scaling to maintain a stable 30 FPS. That means you can expect things to get marginally less pretty during intense combat sections, or other instances of intense action on-screen in order to retain that 30 FPS.
Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X have already been confirmed to run Valhalla at 4K/ 60FPS, just showcasing how much more powerful these systems are compared to the mid-gen hardware upgrades in the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.
Unfortunately, other details regarding Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s PS4 Pro and Xbox One X enhancements are scarce, likely as Ubisoft is focusing most of its time and effort on the next-gen versions.
