How to Use Sleep Darts and Smoke Bombs in Assassin’s Creed Origins
Like previous games in the series, Assassin’s Creed Origins gives you a wide array of weapons and tools to use throughout your journey. In addition to many close range and long range weapons, you’ll get things like smoke bombs and sleep darts to use. Although, the way that you get and use these items isn’t quite the same as previous games in the series.
First off, with smoke bombs you’ll need to unlock a certain skill to use them in Assassin’s Creed Origins. The skill itself is called Smoke Screen and can be found in the Seer upgrade tree. After unlocking it you’ll have access to smoke bombs, but there’s only certain times you can use them. You don’t need to equip the item, rather you’ll be able to hit triangle (or Y) directly after landing a melee attack or dodging attack. Hitting the button at this time will allow you to throw down a smoke bomb and make a smokescreen, letting you get a few hits in or make your escape. Be aware though that you do have a limited number of smoke bombs just like other items in Assassin’s Creed Origins, and they can run out unless you replenish your stock.
Sleep darts also have to be unlocked on the Seer skill tree before you can actually use them in Assassin’s Creed Origins. The ability should be purchasable just after you obtain the Dawn and Dusk ability. The difference here, however, is that you will need to equip sleep darts before you can actually use them. Just put your sleep darts in the tool slot next to your shield. Once equipped, hold down left on the D-pad to equip the sleep darts, then just aim and fire them like you would your bow. Sleep darts can put enemies to sleep for a few seconds letting you sneak by or assassinate them, and you’ll also need it to tame animals, which you need to put to sleep first.
That’s all you need to know to use sleep darts and smoke bombs in Assassin’s Creed Origins.
