Assassin’s Creed Origins: How to Switch Weapons

How to Switch Weapons in Assassin’s Creed Origins

Recommended Videos

Ubisoft’s hugely popular Assassin’s Creed series returns after taking a year off with a new story set in Egypt. Alongside that new setting and the new characters, you will find a huge number of additional weapons in Assassin’s Creed Origins. As has always been the case with Assassin’s Creed games, knowing how to switch weapons on the fly is important to succeeding in combat.

Once again, you will come across both ranged and melee weapons as you progress in Assassin’s Creed Origins. However, how you obtain them has been changed for the new game. Instead of a small set of weapons to choose from, Origins features a far higher number of options at different rarity levels, many of which are granted as loot. It will give you more options when taking on enemies and some can give ability boosts to Bayek. Once you have equipped your chosen weapons in the weapons area of the menu, you can switch between them as you play. To switch to your ranged weapon, you should press left on the d-pad, and to switch to your melee weapon, you should press right on the d-pad. It is quick and simple and allows Bayek to make the most of his inventory and take advantage of the enemies’ weaknesses in different combat situations.

It’s worth noting that you can carry two melee and two bow weapons by unlocking the Weapon Bearer and Bow Bearer abilities respectively. Each ability costs one point, but cannot be unlocked immediately.

That is how you switch weapons in Assassin’s Creed: Origins. For more coverage, be sure to check out our wiki.
