How to Assassinate Enemies in Assassin’s Creed Origins
Pulling off cool assassinations is most definitely the name of the game in Assassin’s Creed Origins. The assassinate special attacks were available in past games in the series, and they’re back in the latest entry as well. They won’t appear immediately in the story, but they’re definitely there. At first, you can only do non-lethal takedowns. (If you wished to kill them after that, you’d need to slash at them with your weapon.) If assassinations are done properly, you can easily kill regular enemies with just one attack, saving you a lot of time and effort. However, you’ll need to be a bit sneaky to pull this off in Assassin’s Creed Origins.
Assassinations can be done when you’re in stealth and when enemies aren’t aware of your location. For instance, if you’re crouched in tall grass, you can lure an enemy to your position by whistling and drawing their attention. As they come over to investigate, all you have to do is push the Triangle button (or Y if you’re on Xbox One), and Bayek will automatically assassinate your target. Similarly, this can also be done when you’re hidden in a haystack by pushing the button when an enemy is close to you to assassinate them.
Aerial assassinations are also back in Assassin’s Creed Origins, and you can immediately assassinate an enemy below you by jumping off a ledge while holding down the button.
