Getting Octane’s Heirloom in Apex Legends

First things first, it’s worth pointing out that while Octane’s Heirloom set is being released as part of the System Override event, it’s not exclusive to it. Let us explain.

While Apex Legends System Override event is live between March 3 and March 17, players will have to get all 24 System Override limited-time cosmetics. Upon getting all of these, EA will add Octane’s Heirloom to your account for free.

Of course, this then raises the question of how to get all 24 of these System Override limited-time cosmetics.

How to Get System Override Cosmetics

There are two different ways that players can get System Override cosmetics in Apex Legends.

System Override Event Packs

The first is to simply purchase the System Override Event Packs. Each one is guaranteed to have one of the System Override cosmetics you don’t already have. That means you’ll need to buy 24 of these packs at 700 Apex Coins each.

That equates to about 16,800 Apex Coins, with a cash value of $160.

Direct Purchasing or Crafting

Your alternative to buying the System Override Event Packs is to simply buy the new set of cosmetics outright with direct purchasing or crafting.

This would require you to buy each individual System Override cosmetic with Apex Coins or Crafting Materials.

If you choose to buy them with Apex Coins, you’re looking at 1,800 coins per Legendary and 1,000 coins per Epic. This will prove to be even more costly than simply buying the System Override cosmetic packs, but if you’ve only got a few left, this might be the quickest way to get Octane’s Heirloom in Apex Legends.

Crafting Materials is even more costly, requiring 2,400 for a Legendary and 800 for an Epic. In total, the entire System Override cosmetic set comes to a staggering 38,400. We hope you’ve been saving up!

Getting Octane’s Heirloom After Apex Legends’ System Override Event

After March 17, the Octane Heirloom set won’t disappear forever. It’ll be obtainable thanks to Apex Packs and the new Heirloom Shards system that’s just been implemented as part of the System Override event.

Heirloom Shards work in a similar way to how obtaining Heirlooms did in the past. Every time you open an Apex Pack, you’ll get an Heirloom Shard. Get 500 Heirloom Shards and you can exchange them for an Heirloom set of your choosing, rather than getting a random one.

This means that you’ll still open the same number of packs to get an Heirloom set as you did before, but you won’t risk being given one randomly for a character you don’t use.

That’s everything you need to know on how to get Octane’s Heirloom set in Apex Legends. For more tips and tricks, be sure to stick with Twinfinite.
