How to Get & Use Consumables & What They Do in Anthem

Recommended Videos

Anthem offers six difficulty options for every mission, ranging from Easy to Grandmaster 3. If a mission is too difficult for you and your team, there are “Consumables” that can help you out. Here is how to get and use Consumables and what they do in Anthem.

Consumables are temporary power-ups that boost a specific attribute of your character, such as more shields and higher damage with a weapon or ability. They can be selected before each Expedition, or mission, and only last for the duration of that specific task.

On the Expedition screen, press RB/R1/E twice to reach the Consumable menu. Players can equip up to three slots for Consumable power-ups per mission, though the slots must be unlocked by reaching level 10, 20, and 30 for each slot.

Select a slot and you can craft a Consumable from the list of blueprints you have unlocked. They do require resources to craft.

For example, a green uncommon blueprint requires one Uncommon Ember to craft, while a blue rare blueprint needs two Rare Embers to make. Embers can be found throughout the game world.

Once a Consumable has been equipped, tab back to the mission select screen and launch an Expedition.

That does it for how to get and use Consumables and what they do in Anthem. Anthem is Bioware’s latest role-playing game currently out now on PC for those subscribed to Electronic Arts’ Origin Access Premier service. Non-members and console players will be able to get into the game when it officially launches this Friday, Feb. 22.
