At first, you’ll only be able to change your roof color every time you successfully pay off a loan and choose to upgrade your house again.

During this conversation with Tom Nook, he’ll ask you what color you’d like your roof to be. Simply select the color from the options that appear.

When your house upgrade is then complete when you load up the game the next day, you’ll find that your roof color has changed.

After you’ve completed a few upgrades for Tom Nook, you’ll then unlock the option to change roof color whenever you want. Specifically, you’ll need to build your house and then get the three next upgrades. This means your house needs to have two additional rooms and you’ve just paid off an eye-watering 548,000 Bells debt.

Simply go and speak to him in the Town Hall and go to the ‘Construction Consultation Counter.’ Choose the option ‘About my home…’

Next, select “I want to customize.” This does cost 5,000 Bells each time you change it, and the color change will only take effect the next day, but that’s a small price to pay for perfection.

  • Pink
  • Yellow
  • Blue
