Getting the Moon Rug in Animal Crossing New Horizons

Just as Nintendo’s done in the past months with previous events and updates, every now and then you’ll be able to purchase a seasonal item from the Nook Shopping app. With the second summer update, players will be able to get a Moon Rug, but it’ll only be available for a limited time.

To get it, access the Nook Shopping app from the Nook Miles Terminal in the Resident Services building, or from your Nook Phone if you’ve already unlocked the app itself. Head over to the Seasonal tab and you should see the Moon Rug available for sale.

It’ll only be up for sale until Oct. 8, so at the time of writing, you’ve only got a little over a week left to purchase it. The Rug costs 2,000 Bells and once you’ve ordered it, it’ll show up in your mailbox the next day. If you do happen to miss it, you can always time travel backwards to get the Rug to show up in the app, so there are ways to work around it if you want it in your catalogue.

It functions pretty much just like any other floor item in the game. You can use the Moon Rug to decorate the interior of your house, but that’s about it. You won’t be able to spread it out on the island itself.

That’s all you need to know about how to get the Moon Rug in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
