Nintendo has just dropped a new update for Animal Crossing New Horizons, and there are now even more things to do in this game. This update introduces diving, allowing you to explore the sea around your beaches to collect new resources and sea critters. Here’s how to get Pearls in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Getting Pearls in Animal Crossing New Horizons
With this new update, you can meet a new NPC named Pascal who will show up randomly whenever you pick up a scallop underwater. In exchange for the scallop, he’ll hand you a random DIY recipe for the mermaid furniture set.
The catch is that all of these recipes require a Pearl as a crafting material, and these can be pretty hard to come by.
Just like all the other new sea critters you can catch in the game, Pearls are obtained by diving underwater and interacting with the bubbles that you see on the surface of the water. Whenever you see bubbles, dive underwater by pressing the B button and swimming towards it.
Pearls are pretty rare, though, so you’ll likely have to farm for a while to stock up on them. Whenever Pascal shows up, there’s also a chance that he might hand over a Pearl, though the chances of that happening are rather slim. Your best bet is to just search underwater.
With a wetsuit equipped, head towards the water and press A to jump in, then press the B button to dive whenever you see bubbles on the water surface. All you have to do is touch the shadow underwater to catch the sea critter.
