With June just starting, the fish and bugs you can catch in Animal Crossing New Horizons have switched up a little. As well as being able to catch tiny fish, sharks can now be seen swimming around for you to catch. So that you can get a step closer to filling Blathers’ museum, here’s everything you need to know about the Great White Shark in Animal Crossing New Horizons, including where to find it and how much it sells for.
Great White Shark Spawn Times & Location
Slightly smaller than the Whale Shark, the Great White Shark is the second largest fish in the game and can only be caught during the following months for each hemisphere.
- Northern Hemisphere: June – September
- Southern Hemisphere: December – March
During these months, the Great White Shark can only be caught between 4pm and 9am, so you’ll have to do some evening or nighttime fishing in Animal Crossing New Horizons to get it.
How to Catch
Just as is the case with the other sharks you can find in the game, you can only find the Great White Shark in the sea by the beaches that surround your island. Just head there, look for an extra-large shadow and a fin poking out the top, and go about trying to catch it.
Use your rod and cast the line towards the front of the shadow. Once the fish bites and the float goes under the water, press A to reel it in.
Do note though that the Great White Shark is a pretty rare creature, so there are no promises that it’ll be the shadow that you’re trying to reel it, it could be something less rare and valuable. You can use some Fishing Bait nearby to try and boost your chances of it appearing, so give that a try.
Great White Shark Sell Price
Once you’ve caught one and if you don’t want to donate it to Blathers so that he can show off in his museum, you can sell it to Timmy and Tommy at Nook’s Cranny for 15,000 bells. If CJ the fisherman has visited your island though, you can sell it to him for 50% more, netting you 22,500 bells.
That’s everything you need to know about the Great White Shark in Animal Crossing New Horizons. For more tips and tricks on the ever-evolving game, be sure to check out our wiki guide or search for Twinfinite.
