This beetle can only be caught during the following months for each hemisphere.

  • Northern Hemisphere – July – September
  • Southern Hemisphere – January – February

The Earth-Boring Dung Beetle can be caught at any time throughout the day or night, so you won’t have to worry about loading up the game between certain hours to catch it.

Catching the Earth-Boring Dung Beetle in Animal Crossing New Horizons

The Earth-Boring Dung Beetle can be recognized by the pink-ish hue to its outer shell. It will be wandering around on the ground of your island and can even show up when it’s raining.

To catch the Earth-Boring Dung Beetle in Animal Crossing New Horizons, you’ll need to simply keep an eye out for it as you’re exploring your island.

When you see the pink tinge of its shell scuttling across your floor, press and hold A on your Switch to ready your bug net (make sure it’s equipped). Now move the left analog stick to begin creeping towards it.

Make sure that the beetle is within reach of your net and then release A. Your Villager will swing their net and catch it, before blurting out the capture quote of: “I caught an Earth-Boring Dung Beetle! It’s not boring at all!”

Earth-Boring Dung Beetle Sell Price

This beetle can be sold for 300 Bells at Nook’s Cranny. If Flick shows up on your island, he’ll buy it off you for 450 Bells.
