It might have launched at the end of 2018, but Among Us has only become hugely popular recently. Alongside a variety of streamers, mobile and PC gamers have jumped on the game in the thousands, becoming one of the most popular games of all time on Steam. If you’re exclusively a console gamer and want to give the game a try, you’ll be wondering if Among Us is coming to PS4. Well, we’ll run you through what we know.
Among Us is a multiplayer game that involves one player taking on the role of impostor as the rest play detective to work out who the enemy is.
Is Among Us Coming to PS4?
As of right now, Among Us is only available on PC via Steam, where it costs $5, and for free on mobile. It’s not available on any home console and the developers haven’t commented on whether they plan to port it over.
However, nothing has been said since the game blew up and became very popular. Maybe they’ll consider it and comment on the possibility as they likely get more and more fans asking for it.
However, with the game relying so much on communication, sometimes in text form, it might not be the easiest game to get to work on PS4. Typing is certainly tougher on Sony’s console than it is on PC or mobile.
You might also have more luck in the sequel to Among Us coming to PS4. In a post on their site about a month ago, they confirmed that they’re working on number two. However, they didn’t say anything about a console version. They said:
Unlike Among Us 1, we expect to make Among Us 2 for PC first, then port to mobile. This will let us focus on making a great game faster because updates can come out in minutes on PC, where mobile can take hours or even days.
However, as the landscape surrounding the game changes, maybe a PS4 version of Among Us will get more likely. We will update you here if we hear anything.
