Want to know what all the tattoos on Thor’s Back in Thor: Love and Thunder are? Considering we only see the ink for a brief amount of time, it is a very valid question to ask after seeing the movie. Here is everything you need to know about what they say and their meaning.
All Tattoos on Thor’s Back in Thor: Love and Thunder
During the scene where Thor asks Zeus for aid, he is tied up with golden ropes and stripped of his clothes. When this happens we briefly see his back, which has a number of new and interesting tattoos.
While some of them are just general ones, like a broken heart and a rose – with the second one possibly being for Hemsworth’s real-life daughter, India Rose Hemsworth, who actually plays Gorr’s daughter in the film.
Loki Tattoos
So the most obvious tatoos that we can see on Thor’s back are devoted to his brother, Loki. At the very top, there is a tattoo that says RIP Loki; right under that, in the middle of his back, is a replica of Loki’s helm; to the left of Loki’s helm is a tat that says brothers; to the right is a crescent moon, which could also be a nod to Loki; lastly, he’s got God of Mischief located on the bottom of his back as a tramp stamp.
There is also one more mention of Loki on his back, though it is as a part of a list of loved ones he’s lost
List of Lost Loved Ones
While it is arguably the hardest one to make out of the bunch, if you look to the right, under the moon, Thor actually has a list of lost loved ones. That list includes:
- Heimdall
- Loki ?
- Odin
- Freya
- Black Widow (Nat)
- Tony
Some are obviously easier to make out than others, as Tony and Loki are clear as day, while others can be assumed. It should also be noted that there is a question mark next to Loki’s name, meaning that Thor still questions as to whether the God of Mischief could still secretly be alive.
