Best Fallout New Vegas Mods of July 2019

Sometimes we get spoiled in the world of Fallout New Vegas mods, and Of Truth and Lies is probably the one that spoils us the most from July 2019. This mod brings nine fully voiced quests which see the Courier become a Gunslinger as he aims to take down the Sanguineous Six, a former gang of gunslingers.

To bring the real western vibe to the Mojave wasteland, Of Truth and Lies also adds 30 new weapons and 19 pieces of armor to help you really fit the part.

If you’re a fan of this one, creator rikkurikku has done other big quest mods like this, such as Death’s Last Whisper, in case you’re looking for more.

Faction Wasteland Presence Compilation

Best Fallout New Vegas Mods of July 2019

For those still playing Fallout New Vegas because they just love how immersive the world is, Faction Wasteland Presence Compilation brings together a number of behavioral change mods from creator ariusvalvius to make the various factions act even more naturally and within the confines of the lore, too.

It’s pretty extensive but includes things like the Great Khans occupying friendly locations in the Mojave Wasteland, rather than being confined to the Red Rock Canyon. Similarly, Mr. House sends Securitrons to three locations on the map which would be of interest to him to control.

The compilation mod really just brings a lot of little things together, but if you’re a big lore fiend, it helps make the world feel more ‘live’ as you play through the main storyline and your actions have consequences.

Wash Yourself – A Bathing Mod

Best Fallout New Vegas Mods of July 2019

One for the true survival fans still playing Fallout New Vegas. The Wash Yourself – A Bathing Mod not only adds in the ability to wash yourself in baths, but introduces a basic hygiene system into the game.

It requires a couple of other mods to get running, but once you do, you’ll get dirtier and dirtier as you explore the wasteland, which brings its own bonuses and penalties, too.

Oh, you can also craft soap and use it to wash yourself to get the ‘Very Clean’ hygiene status, rather than just ‘Normal’ if you give yourself a good ol’ scrub down with that wasteland water.

If you’ve been looking to make your survival playthroughs even more grueling, this gives another stat to manage, without making things too overbearing.

Tammer’s Customizable Companion – Declan

Best Fallout New Vegas Mods of July 2019

There are a ton of different companion mods available for Fallout New Vegas, but the quality isn’t always there and there’s no guarantee the companion mod you download is going to be the right fit for your Courier as they venture across the wasteland. Tammer’s Customizable Companion – Declan allows players to do just that.

Your fully-voiced companion will earn their own XP simply by traveling around with you and engaging in combat, and levels up, granting skill points that can be spent on any of his skills. At every 10 levels, you’ll get to add an additional SPECIAL point instead.

On top of that, your companion’s home location can be set to wherever you want instead of the Lucky 38 suite if you’d rather be far out from the hustle and bustle of the casino.

Remasterise ENB

Best Fallout New Vegas Mods of July 2019

It’s been nine years since Fallout New Vegas and its Mojave Wasteland graced our screens for the first time on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, and as we approach the end of the following console generation, it’s fair to say that the game doesn’t look quite as amazing as it possibly could.

Remasterise ENB looks to try and give the wasteland a fresh lick of paint, and does a pretty good job, too.

While it does require a number of mods — and a bunch more that are optional but highly recommended — Remasterise ENB sharpens things up with improved water shaders, better-looking sand, colorful night skies, and pretty blue skies which weirdly complement the barrenness of the wasteland.
