Combat Made Easy
This new mod allows you to customize exactly how difficult combat is in-game by tweaking a few stats in Stardew Valley.
You can change how much damage enemies inflict on you, decrease enemies health, and increase the drop rate for items from defeated monsters. This allows you to adjust the game’s difficulty to your liking if you are more into the gathering part while in the mines as opposed to the fighting.
It’s sure to make getting to the bottom of the mines a whole lot easier.
‘Dreamy’ Stardew Valley Reshade
This mod reshades your vanilla version of Stardew Valley into a ‘dreamy’ version that offers a much more relaxing atmosphere.
The new look looks like visions of a sleepy European town, or the illustrations of a stylized children’s book. The overall effect is very impressive and completely changes the way the entire game looks for a much more cutesy approach.
New color layouts are also used to more creatively articulate the time of day. Deep purples indicate twilight and overlays of orange show early evening or morning while mid-day displays un-altered color sprites.
It’s sure to make your game of Stardew Valley feel fresh and new again by changing the atmosphere to be much more calming.
Pet Interactions
Ever wish your pet did a bit more than just lounge around on the farm all day? Well then this will be the mod for you.
It allows your pets to do a lot more then just hang by their water bowl. Now they can follow you around, play fetch, and even by intrigued by certain things in-game.
To get your pet to follow you, just right-click on them and they will jog along besides you and whenever you go into a building they will wait for you outside. To play fetch, just use left-click when you have a stick in your hand and your pet will start to bring it back for friendship points.
Your pet will also be interested in birds and try to chase them, and will get upset if they are hit with a tool or get wet by your watering can. You can always pet them again to make up for it though.
Secret Forest Farm
This mod offers a new farm layout that comes with a few secret surprises.
If you poke around you’ll discover a new farm cave, nine unique secret areas, and over 40 custom strings to go with all that new content. The farm cave comes with a mine cart, and come other cute details like hanging tools and an anvil.
The farm itself has a very cute and minimalist layout, which would be perfect for someone focused more on have a few concentrated areas for planting seeds.
Mermaid Island
This absolutely massive mod feels more like a new update from the developer than a fan-made creation.
Once downloaded you will have access to a totally new Mermaid Island that comes with a wealth of new content including a new NPC, new fish to catch (including a new Epic fish), new items to collect, and five brand new events.
The island itself is located between Pelican Town and the Fern Islands, and can be accessed by Willy’s boat after you receive your copper pan and fix the new beach bridge.
The new NPC is called Madame, and she owns a bait shop on the island. A little Ice Fox also lives on the island and runs a refreshment stand that feels everything feel very Animal Crossing-esque.
A Summer Market is said to be coming to the mod soon, which is essentially like a version of Night Market that will only be on the island with its new unique shops.
Halloween Stardew Valley Redesign
This spooky mod offers a whole redesigned version of Stardew Valley with a scary Halloween vibe.
Animals are zombified, jack-o-laterns and Halloween decorations fill the town, buildings look empty and haunted, certain items have scary looking sprites, and even the main menu screen has a run-down look to it as well.
Customized Halloween-themed music is also included in the mod, and you can choose to just have the redesign show up during the Fall or during the whole Stardew Valley year.
Better Panning
The copper pan is one of the lesser used tools in Stardew Valley, and this mod seeks to rectify that by making it more useful.
You can receive a pan after getting rid of the Glittering Boulder at the bridge by the mine entrance to reveal the waterfall during the Fish Tank Bundles. This mod tweaks the way the pan works so the chance of getting a panning spot out of reach is greatly reduced, while also adding some new panning spots like on the beach.
Panning will also no longer just give you ore, but instead can bring up any item in the game.
Hopefully these changes will inspire more players to give panning a try whenever they’re looking for some useful resources.
Cuter Coops and Better Barns
As the name suggests, this mod gives you cuter coops and better barns on your farm that come with much more detail than the vanilla versions.
The coops themselves are slightly bigger, and now come with freshly painted walls, small plants, hay on the floor, and even a adorable portrait of a chicken on the wall. The barns also come with a new redesign as well.
You can customize the wall color to white, blue, brown, beige, orange, pastel pink, pink, purple, red, or teal.
New Stardew Valley NPC Portraits
One of the most popular mods out last month offered a ton of new custom portraits for all the NPC characters in the game.
The new portraits are super stylized and adorable. They are so well done you would think they were plucked from the character model sheets of an upcoming anime.
The portraits come in high resolution only, and requires a special ‘Portraiture mod’ which you can find here.
Extra Fish Information
This mod fleshes out the information menus for all the fish in the game to give you the information you need to catch them properly.
Before, the information menus just told you the name of the fish, a short description, and the number you have personally caught with your largest catch to date. Now, that info also includes the time of day you are able to catch the fish and the locations they are spotted in.
This will make it so you don’t have to check a wiki every five seconds while trying to complete the Fish Tank Bundle for the Community Center.
