Been looking for a Wii U? Nintendo is offering you a splattering of games in a console bundle.

Nintendo announced today that a new Wii U bundle including the upcoming family friendly ink shooter Splatoon will be arriving on May 29th.

The bundle will cost $300 and will come with the black deluxe system and copies of Splatoon and Nintendo Land. Whilst Nintendo Land will be pre-installed and ready to play from the off with the system, Splatoon will come in the box as a download code.

If you’re after one of these Splatoon bundles you’ll have to visit your nearest Best Buy as this Wii U SKU is exclusive to the chain.

Nintendo will be hoping that Splatoon can help ship some extra units of their latest home console, with sales being somewhat lacklustre since its release back in 201. Whilst the Wii U has sold 9.2 million units since its release in November 2012, the PlayStation 4 has sold over 20 million since its release back in November 2013. Thought it’s almost guaranteed that Nintendo won’t be able to keep up with Sony and Microsoft’s console offerings, Splatoon may offer some damage limitation if the game lives up to the hype.

Splatoon

Splatoon is set to be one of the biggest games for the console currently announced to be released for this year following the news that the Legend of Zelda Wii U game originally to be released this year, was delayed until 2016.

Splatoon provides all of those young budding gamers who want to get stuck into a shooter with a family-friendly and appropriate title to hone their skills in a tactical shooter, which focuses on players shooting and covering as much of the level’s environment with their team’s colour as possible.

Nintendo also recently announced their line of Amiibo releasing alongside the game, with the Inkling Boy, Inkling Girl and Inkling Squid being given the toy treatment. Let’s just hope that the Splatoon Amiibo will be easier to get hold of than the likes of the Wii Fit Trainer and Animal Crossing Villager.
