Odds are the legendary length of The Order: 1886 has reached your wonderful ears. And despite the claims that the game can be completed in a mere 5 hours, the overall length for the average gamer does land around 8 hours total. Not uncommon at all for most action games these days like, say, Uncharted.
But if you’re hustling, The Order: 1886 can apparently be taken out pretty quickly. Which begs the question: what else could you accomplish in 5 hours? We’re here to show you the way!
1. Play 5% of Dragon Age Inquisition
Without rushing, and with a few divergent side quests, Dragon Age Inquisition could easily clock in a 100-hour playthrough. It can be daunting at times, but the game is so fun and addicting you might even lose track of the time you spend.
Set a clock and see how much you can get done in Inquisition in a measly 5 hours! How many monsters can you slay, and how many quests can you complete?
And better yet, at the end of 5 hours you can be comforted by the fact that it’s nowhere near over.
2. Spring Cleaning
Spring is just around the corner (though it might not seem that way if you’re on the U.S. East Coast). And if you’ve been letting some chores pile up around the house, spend 5 hours getting some actual worthwhile work done! You’ll feel better about yourself and be able to enjoy some lemony freshness.
3. Go See a Real Movie
The Order: 1886 is, by all reports and the devs themselves, a cinematic experience. Some have complained that this focus outweighs the gameplay. And that’s fine, but if you’d rather watch a movie instead then it’s time to hit the theaters!
There are some great new releases out right now. With flicks for all age ranges like “The Spongebob Movie,” “Queen and Country,” and “Wild Tales,” (out 2/20), there are tons of fun movies to see that might even cost less than The Order: 1886‘s full price!
4. Read a Book
You might not be able to knock out a book in 5 hours total. Not everyone reads at the same pace, after all. But The Order: 1886 claims to present an incredible narrative experience. Why not grab a book? For a fraction of the price you could be whisked away to wonderful worlds or discover fantastic bits of information you never knew about.
5 hours might not be enough to get through, say, the Lord of the Rings or the latest Stephen King novel, but the money you spend will get more mileage.
5. Marathon an Old Cartoon Series on Netflix
Netflix is pretty cheap. And 5 hours is just enough time to watch way too many episodes of Courage the Cowardly Dog or Ed, Edd, and Eddy. And with such incredible quality shows out there, that 5 hours might turn into 15 hours. It’s a pretty insidious phenomenon, but Netflix only means well. And why not get the most out of your monthly subscription? Johnny Bravo ain’t gonna watch himself!…wait….
Or, alternatively, you could play The Order: 1886 for a few hours and then return it to GameStop. Your call.
