Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has announced that they will be publishing the Japanese version of the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The PS4 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops III is due in Japan on Nov 6 while the PS3 version has yet to be dated.
Previously it was Square Enix who handled the Japanese publishing of the Call of Duty series, but Sony only announced that they’re publishing the PS3/PS4 versions, so Square Enix could still be publishing the Xbox One and PC versions. According to Gematsu, the Japanese versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops III will include both the subtitles and the Japanese dubs on one disc. This is an improvement over Square Enix, who in the past separated the subtitles and the Japanese dub into two separate versions of the game.
This isn’t the first time that Sony will be publishing a game in Japan, as last year they published Activision’s Destiny as a PlayStation platform exclusive.
The PS4 Call of Duty: Black Ops III multiplayer beta will kick off this Wednesday on Aug 19 and will run this Sunday, Aug 23.
