Fans of 2K’s Mafia franchise have been waiting for a third installment for nearly 5 years. Mafia II came out in 2010 to pretty good reception, had the two DLC story packs, and then disappeared. There have been some character descriptions that people believed was for the third installment and hints that it’ll come to next-gen, but otherwise nothing. Now their prayers have finally been answered. Maybe. Rick Pasqualone, voice actor of Vito Scaletta from Mafia II, tweeted to a follower that an announcement may come “very soon”.
@Nataliebennette very nice. Thanks. Might have some Mafia news very soon!

Given that PAX South is in a few weeks, it’d be the perfect time to reveal information and gameplay footage for Mafia III. Rumors say that the game will be set in Louisiana, which kind of makes sense, given the convention? We’ll have more on the story as it develops.
