PSA: PSN's Gone Down Again, Engineers Are Investigating

It looks as though PSN is having issues yet again.

Once again it seems like PlayStation Network is having some issues. Luckily this time Sony know there is a problem and they’ve got engineers on hand to see what’s going on. It appears to be affecting only those who are currently trying to log into the PSN service and not already logged in.

Those who log out of PSN and then back in however may find that they are unable to get online. People attempting to log in will find that they are greeted with an NP-35000-8 error, along with the information that the service is currently undergoing maintenance. It would seem however that, with the above tweet from the Ask PlayStation account, that this current falling down of the PSN service is not an expected drop in connectivity.

PSN is already expected to undergo maintenance on Thursday 15th January but there’s no indication as to whether this is an expected issue or not. We can hope that things are going to be quickly ironed out with this new issue. If you’re concerned about the issue, we recommend following the account shown above for further information on the problem as it evolves.

There is of course the possibility that PSN is once again under attack from a DDoS strike like that used by Lizard Squad over the Christmas period. With the recent news that they were apparently offering a service for people to actually pay for a hacking attack to be launched, it’s entirely possible that someone could be attacking the network for the ‘lulz’.

If you’re experiencing issues logging into PSN let us know in the comments down below. Also do get in touch if you hear any news on this issue.
