After over 3 years of development, The Order: 1886 is edging closer to it’s official release on the 20th of February, 2015. The single player adventure game takes place in an alternative timeline Victorian London where advanced technology is used to battle ancient and terrifying creatures. You play as Galahad, a member of an elite order of Knights, as the battle against these creatures continues.

Sony have stated that The Order: 1886 is the latest exclusive to be pushed into the forefront after partnering with Ready At Dawn Studios. The developers spearheaded the development behind several God of War games along with Daxter for the Playstation Portable and PlayStation 3. However, The Order: 1886 takes them to completely new heights with an explosive shooter-based thriller.

The Order: 1886 was originally announced at the 2013 E3 Playstation Conference where it was revealed it had been in development since 2010. Being single-player only, players will take charge of unknown and differing weapons created by a re-imagined Nikola Tesla. Excitingly, more historical figures are expected to appear but in a very different situation than what we know. Differing weapons and tools have also been announced by Sony, with the Thermite Gun, Arc Gun and Combo Guns being usable at different points. Each gun has their own particular trait for the type of combat, such as long or short distance.

Gadgets and technology are past the setting in the game, with wireless communicators and long-distance monoculars. These are all based on plausible science and technological means, Sony states, and it seems interesting how these will fit into a time period we have grown to understand.
