In this week’s issue of Famitsu, the Japanese gaming magazine, more details on Persona 5 were revealed.
According to the magazine, Persona 5’s protagonist is a second-year student who moves to the big city (Tokyo, in this case) in spring. The protagonist lives with his parents’ friends at a coffeeshop that they own. The article also mentions that the protagonist is dealing with some sort of problem, which fits with what we saw in the trailer that showed off the Velvet Room as a prison.
The mansion-like dungeon we saw in the debut trailer was not randomly generated either. The dungeons this time around have been structured such that we’ll be able to catch glimpses of certain motifs and symbols, though this doesn’t mean that randomly generated content has been completely taken out from the game.
Lastly, it was also revealed that the protagonist’s first Persona is called Arsene.
Persona 5 is set to be released for the PS3 and PS4 some time this year.
