New Nintendo 3DS XL Set to Release in North America Next Month, But Not its Regular-Sized Counterpart

I hope you like your handhelds big.

Just yesterday, we reported a rumor of a possible release date for the new Nintendo 3DS. Today, at the first Nintendo Direct of 2015, it has officially been confirmed that the new Nintendo 3DS XL will indeed be released in North America on February 13.

However, it should be noted that only the new Nintendo 3DS XL will be released in North America, and not its regular-sized counterpart. The updated handheld will feature near-field communication with Amiibos, a faster processing speed, eye-tracking for better 3D usage, as well as the addition of the analog C-Stick.

The new Nintendo 3DS XL will be available in red and black on February 13 in North America.
