Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts games aren’t new to strange titles. There’s still Birth by Sleep and whatever 358/2 Days was supposed to be (how do you say that?). But this one, if it’s real, may set a new bar for weird titles in the series. What exactly is Kingdom Hearts 2.9 supposed to be?
Whatever it is, it’s an apparent PlayStation exclusive title that game designer Richard W. VanDeventer worked on in Osaka, Japan at Square Enix for 10 months. According to his LinkedIn, they worked on KH 2.9 and KH 3. For KH 2.9, he provided “game idea planning and documentation, boss planning, Attraction Flow planning and documentation, and Game Check and balance”.
